    Wip Seaport..Coastal City Isle of Sunderholm

    I have not posted much in awhile So I thought I would share some of my simple Maps of My Homebrew Setting.

    Seaport is a large Coastal City on the Isle of Sunderholm..(Homebrew Setting)
    Popluation is around 8000.

    Work and Lack of Gaming has slowed the project down abit.

    This is my first attempt at Combining Dundjinni Maps. I have a slower older system so I tend to keep the details simple on the Maps.
    Only 256 RAM

    Eventually I want to create at least 16 Quarters in the City.
    Possibly 20

    My PC's were exploring the Sewer System investigating Disturbences in the Quarter

    My Plan is eventual have all the Maps layout the city so that the Quarters are

    1.....2......3......4
    5.....6......7......8
    9.....10.....11...12
    13....14....15...16

    The river dock Quarter is area 10 in the overall scheme of things.

    hehe -guess they would be "Sixteenths" rather than Quarters

    Also, you can upload images to the site here, and benefit automatic thumbnailing by using the Attachments button (the paperclip in the toolbar).

    Yea but the Southern Merchants Quarter sounds better than the Southern Merchants Sixteenth

    Hey Rob by the way I tried to upload the Map directly from my computer...after 3 minutes the attachment page got an error message saying IE could not display the page...

    Heh... well.. you could always make up something else. Some examples:

    Southern Merchants District
    Southern Merchants Ward
    Southern Merchants Canton
    Southern Merchants Some Totally Made Up Word

    Or just use Quarter...

    Limitations
    Unfortunately, there are also a couple of limitations. The first is file sizes. The following is a list of the file size limits:

    bmp - 7.63 MB
    gif - 7.63 MB
    jpg - 4.77 MB
    png - 4.77 MB

    The second limit is the actual image size. The image must be less than 30 megapixels in actual size. If you try to upload a 6000x6000 jpeg that has a file size of only 1MB, it will fail (sometimes with a blank screen, sometimes with a database error depending on the actual size...) as it is 36 megapixels. This limitation is being worked on, and will hopefully be resolved soon.

    To show of images larger than this, you will have to use an off-site image hosting service and provide a link.

    PS...forgot to mention Clicking the Image will take you to the album where the Image is shown where more maps are stored also

    If it is a jpeg (lossy anyway), just dial the compression until you get to < 4.77 MB.

    How are you saving it/software? I have heard that in photoshop "save to web" gives much better compression results than "save"...

    I exported each section from Dundjinni as a 1600 x 2000 JPG
    Stitched together in Paint as a 3200 x 6000
    2 High x 3 Wide
    Saved as a JPG
