Wow,

Thanks for all the responses! My current interests are pretty far reaching, but with regards to my game I'm working on, the map I'm making is somewhat reminiscent of RISK or Axis and Allies (a world map).

My game itself is called PÉS (pronounced 'peace', short for Politics, Economics, Society) which is a little corny, but its a work in progress. If I had to describe it, I would call it a mix between Risk, Axis and Allies, the game of Life, and Diplomacy. The map I'm making for it is unique (and presents a unique challenge) in that it needs to be a topographical world map with political boundaries but also with some sort of grid system for movement (vis-a-vis D&D or another crawl game).

Beyond that, however, I am - plain and simple - a lover of all things fantastic and map-related. I am a huge Tolkien and Robert Jordan fan and I have spent much too much time admiring the maps within those works as well as all fantasy works I have read. I also am a huge fan of city maps/designs. I studied Architecture for a year before deciding it wasn't right for me as a career, but what I learned in that time has only heightened my passion for map making.

Thanks so much and I hope to have a map posted soon!

Happy Holidays!
