Version 0.0.2 is now available at the project's homepage: http://axiscity.hexamon.net/users/isomage/gimp/hexgimp/

The new version comes bundled with its own tileset -- brushes made from Thorfinn Tait's Atlas of Mystara hexes (used with permission) -- so the package comes ready-to-use. AKS tiles are no longer supported.

I'll stop posting updates here; those very few who may be interested can keep an eye on the project's webpage. Here's an image link which will always show the current version's example map:

OK, now I know I am casting a pretty high level resurrection spell on this thread and also I would like to apologize before hand for my ignorance but...I have reached a point in my campaign where there is going to be a serious movement of small and large armies around an area and I believe that a hex map would be an invaluable tool. So I would like to create one...

I want to use GIMP and the hexGIMP brushes and script. I have installed everything correctly and it works but...here is the big question: Is there a way to perfectly center a hex brush inside a hex from a grid or do I have to carefully place each hex brush? Seems it would take forever to do so. If I am missing something I am truly sorry for this almost silly question but a complete novice of GIMP asks for help...

    Thank you!

I believe it will set up a grid, so if you turn on snap-to-grid you will snap each hex to the right location.
